American Legion Post 117 will meet Tuesday evening at 5pm in the VFW Hall. For more information call BJ at 615-633-7369.

During the month of August Macon Community Hospital is offering $50 low dose computed tomography lung cancer screenings. Call 615-666-2147 to make an appointment.

Lafayette United Methodist Church will have their Monthly Food Giveaway, Thursday from 12-2pm.

Lafayette Masonic Lodge #543 will have their official visit Thursday night. The potluck dinner starts at 6pm and will be followed by the visit at 7pm.

Sozo Ministries will have an Outreach, Saturday from noon – 1:30pm at 630 Coolidge Road. Everything is free and they’ll have clothes, bibles, toiletries and more.

The Friends of Macon County Public Library System will meet Saturday at 10am at 311 Church Street. The meeting is open to the public.

The Buildings and Facilities Committee will meet, Monday evening at 5pm in the Legislative room of the Administrative Building. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the status of the Macon County Courthouse, Health Department and Archives Buildings.

The UCHRA will hold a commodities distribution in Macon County, Tuesday from 9-11am at 607 Hwy 52 By-Pass East.
